MOVING THROUGH TRANSITIONS:
FOR PEOPLE & ORGANIZATIONS
Workshop with Tree Bressen
Saturday, April 12, 2008
10am-5pm
Portland State University
Neuberger Hall 391 @ 724 Harrison St.
This workshop is being designed specifically to address the needs of students enrolled in the Leadership for Ecology, Culture and Learning (LECL) program at PSU. Members of the public are also welcome to attend.
Creating Continuity of Vision, Values & Culture: How do we maintain a sense of community that weaves together multiple generations of LECL students, especially as the organizations of LECL & PSU change around us?
Resolving Conflicts during Times of Transition: Whether facing graduation, choosing a dissertation topic, or the many other transitions we encounter as we go through life, how do we honor different voices and find a path forward? We'll address the uncertainties of hearing multiple viewpoints inside ourselves as well as the challenges of facing others (e.g. friends, family, administrators, bosses) who are sometimes uncomfortable with our desires, and all the feelings this may bring up (hope, grief, celebration, anxiety, ambivalence, etc.).

Presenter: Tree Bressen consults with a wide variety of organizations
on how to have meetings that are lively, productive, and connecting.
Intentional communities--groups whose members have to deal with each
other every day--have provided her with a living crucible for learning
and refining these skills. Tree’s work is founded on a desire to help
groups put their ideals into action. Her workshops have consistently
been reviewed as lively, practical, and informative. Her website
www.treegroup.info offers extensive free articles and resources.
